Athena Kugblenu’s professional experience is in internal and external communications management, stakeholder management and community engagement. She was Communications and Consultation Executive at the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) for the London 2012 Olympics after which she became Stakeholder Manager at Transport for London (TfL), devising and delivering communication strategies to support large scale business projects. She managed community engagement activity, engaging residential, business and political stakeholders, and organised events, creating media opportunities. She has managed insight and research projects for the UK Civil Service and, most recently, managed communications for WRAP, a national sustainability organisation, planning, implementing, supporting and monitoring a portfolio of communication projects tailored to meet the waste objectives of London boroughs.
